Network Connection Settings

PLEASE NOTE: Before you receive your FP machine we would like to make sure for your convenience that it will successfully connect to your network to install and download postage and rate table updates.

The franking machine connects to the internet to install and download postage and rate tables updates:

A CAT 5E cable a 3 meter (9.8 foot) cable is included with the PostBase.

We would recommend that you check with your network administrator whether ‘DHCP’ is enabled. If DHCP is disabled then they will need a designated IP ADDRESS for your PostBase. If your company has an internal network, this may have a proxy server. Please ask your network administrator to complete the below table and be available when you install your new PostBase.

If your network uses a Firewall.

PostBase franking machines use a TCP/IP (v4 only) through an https connection using TLS v1.2 over port 443 and an http connection over port 80. These two ports must be enabled to allow the franking machine to establish a connection to *francotyp.com. This domain and these ports will need to be white listed on your firewall to allow incoming and outgoing connections to the Francotyp-Postalia servers.
