In our 2021 data, we focused on mail pieces that contain digital response elements. The distribution of channels shows that QR code usage has soared (now at 40% of all mail received), with web addresses close behind.

Two years ago, only 17.8% of sales were made from online purchases (Global eCommerce Forecast 2021, eMarketer, 2021). That number is expected to grow in the next few years and reach 20.8% by 2023, a 3 percentage point increase. And the growth is forecasted to continue, by 2025, 23% of all sales are estimated to be made online, which would be a 5.2 percentage point increase in five years.
